Pictures

Unfortunately, Alexis has been sick over the last week. So, it doesn't make for many good videos. However, since she is such a cutie, there are still good pictures! (Wipe her nose, take picture, wipe her nose, take picture, etc.)

"I'm gonna get you....."

Up to no good
"Is anybody looking?"

"I love my new slippers!"

One cool girl!
Daddy: "Now, where are my keys?"

Sleeping Positions

Every night we ask Alexis if she'd like to go to sleep on her back or her tummy. We put her to bed whichever way she wants. After we leave the room we hear this constant rustling over the baby monitor (sometimes it seems like it lasts for a half hour). Since it's been cold lately we've been going into Alexis' room to cover her up with a blanket right before we go to bed (Since she always wiggles out from under it with all her rustling around) This has given us the opportunity to see her sleeping in some really bizarre positions (Her brace makes it hard for her to get comfy, but still...). Just for fun, since we had heard her moving around a lot earlier in the evening, we decided to videotape when we went into her room to see if she would be sleeping in a strange position. She did not disappoint.....

Walking nowhere fast...

Most kids would probably be annoyed by this. Alexis thinks it's hilarious....

Teaching her young....

Alexis usually is scared to death of the vacuum. However, one night last week she decided she wanted to help daddy vacuum. Hey, if we can get her to clean up her own mess after dinner then GREAT! Now, if we could just get her to wash dishes.....

Obama down the street!

Barack Obama decided to hold his last political rally before the election here in Manassas. The rally started at 9:00 pm, but gates opened at 5:00 pm. It took place about 2 miles down the street from us. Starting at about 5:15 traffic was backed up and stopped in front of our neighborhood. It took Helena 2 hours to get home and took me almost 45 min. just to get Alexis from daycare and come back home. Below is some (very dark) video of the scene by our house taken THREE HOURS after traffic first started backing up. People decided to park along the streets in front of our neighborhood and throughout our neighborhood and walk the rest of the way (After our streets were completely full I flagged down a guy who was with his daughter and let him park in my driveway) He said he was coming from Vienna and it had taken him almost three hours to get there. Wow!

UPDATE: According to the Washington Post, Obama's campaign estimated the size of the crowd at around 80,000 people! The chief of police said it was one of the largest gatherings the county has ever seen. Not bad for a republican leaning district. (Something else interesting to note: McCain held a rally in Manassas on Oct 18. The crowd estimate for that event was about a couple thousand people)

Walking Part 2

Alexis decided she would walk by herself again today. This time, she seemed as excited about it as we did (before she got tired) When Alexis retrieved Helena's slippers it got us thinking. This could be a very good thing. What could be next? The mail? Newspaper? The possibilities are virtually endless. We knew having kids would pay off some day!

Dancing

Here's a short video of Helena and Alexis dancing with the Hunka Hunka Burning Love gorilla.
